Let’s Talk Menu Planning!

Typically I plan my menu Saturday.

I start out by looking in my fridge for fruits and veggies that I need to use up.

Secondly, I look at my pantry for canned goods, staples, grains, and pasta that need to be used.

And finally, I look in my freezer for proteins and veggies that need to be used.

I make my grandma proud by buying in bulk and on sale but if I’m not careful things will get overlooked and expire before I use them.

I list those ingredients and then plan my menu for the week around those.

I’ll look through my favorite cookbooks, hop on Pinterest, or Google recipes that contain those items.

Once I’ve picked out for five simple easy recipes…

I make my grocery list.

Always including those staples were if I run out of things I’ve got the basics. Eggs, yogurt, tuna, uncured lunch meat and maybe some cheese, tortillas, rice, beans, spinach or any greens, and let but not least some frozen veggies and fruit.

Off to the store I go!
