6 reasons NOT to starve yourself!

1. The Process will feel too hard you will quit a couple of weeks in!

  • We can dig into hard things for a short time however long term, things that are too challenging are not sustainable.
  • Think about a sprint or a really hard workout. You can sustain a super aggressive pace for a short time but not possible long term.
  • Food is the same way. Easier, more balanced changes you will be able to stick with longer and consistency long term is what we need for permanent weight loss.

2. Hunger will be out of control & may drive you to overeat!

  • When clients come to us eating 1200 calories/day and just can not seem to lose weight we know right away what is most likely happening.
  • When we restrict so aggressively that is only possible for a short time.
  • Typically they will stick with 1200 calories for a couple of days and then on the weekend they will binge and overeat, using up the entire deficit that may have been there. This roller coaster is a surefire recipe for weight loss stalls!

3. The moment you tell me I can’t have something I want it more than ever!

  • YOU KNOW IT’S TRUE!!!
  • No sugar, dairy, or so on???
  • Completely cutting out foods or food groups can be a disaster for long term sustainability.
  • A better option is to set a goal. I will not eat more than 30 grams of sugar per day or

I will not have more than one serving of dairy /day. Now THAT will generate PROGRESS and be far more sustainable

*UNLESS YOU HAVE FOOD ALLERGIES! IF THAT IS THE CASE DIG IN CAUSE THOSE NEED TO GO!

4. WHEN YOU EAT OUT OR HAVE DINNER WITH FRIENDS THE GUILT IS TOO MUCH!

  • LIFE IS ABOUT MOMENTS & EXPERIENCES!
  • You should be able to eat out or dine with friends without feeling like your ruining your day or “diet”!
  • Now that does not mean that you should just go all out with no intention or plan at all.
  • Go into dinner or the party with a PLAN & GUMPTION and you will not only have a fabulous time. you will not feel the guilt of going off plan!

5. If you are able to lose the weight… you risk gaining it back

  • Sustainable weight loss requires new life long habits!
  • If you are only focused on quick fixes and aggressively cutting calories keeping the weight off will be far less likely.
  • Focus on changing YOUR habits and those of your FAMILY for a LIFETIME!

DO THE WORK!

CREATE NEW HABITS!

KEEP THE WEIGHT OFF!

6. The DEPRIVATION WILL BE TOO MUCH AND MAY LEAD TO MINDLESS SNACKING!

  • When hunger is high the tendency is to snack uncontrollably!
  • If we have a plan and have accounted for our daily needs we will be eating full delicious meals that are satisfying.
  • That will then help to curb hunger and make snacking more balanced since you are enjoying well-balanced filling meals.

Track your food!

Make sure you’re eating enough!

Stave off unnecessary snacking!
