My perfect weekend consists of?

Show Up & Calm Down on the weekend.

This week’s Thursday thoughts is all about bringing our weekends into balance. Take the time to reflect and journal on these prompts below.

Start of by getting grounded

  • Wake up in the morning, make yourself a cup of coffee or tea, find a comfy place hopefully outside and let your mind wander. 
  • Journal how you’re feeling. 
  • What you’re looking forward to this weekend.
  • Brainstorm ways you would like to find more time to do the activities you enjoy. 
  • Make fun lists (not to-do lists!).

My perfect weekend

  • If you had 2 days to do whatever you wanted what would you do? 
  • Map out your ideal weekend.
  • What would you do? 
  • Who you would see and where you would go. 

Set yourself Free

  • Sometimes the best things in life really are free.
  • What are your favorite simple things to do that don’t cost a dime?
  • Reading, hiking, making music, drawing, taking photographs, running…
  • Write down your favorites and let them inspire you to plan your weekend.

Let’s Unplug

  • Set aside at least one day of the weekend to disconnect from the Internet. 
  • Close your laptop.
  • Stop replying to non-necessary work emails and take a break from social media for 24 hours.
  • This one may be a little hard but a technology detox weekly honestly does the body and mind a LOT of good!

Find your Focus

  • Use some time on Sunday as an opportunity to plan for the upcoming week. 
  • What are your priorities? 
  • What are your goals? 
  • What challenges do you anticipate?
  • How can I set myself up for success?   
  • This will help you stay focused and make Monday morning more bearable.
