“I reached a small goal today. At the end of my first year of law school, I weighed close to 230 lbs. Stress eating is real. So, I started tracking my calories and joined a weightlifting gym. I eventually joined a crossfit gym – it really helped with law school stress. This September, I started working with a one-on-one nutrition coach. Today I finally reached my goal of 200 lbs. My new goal is 185 lbs or around 25% body fat. I got up to 230 after getting out of the Navy and got down to 190 and gained it all back between graduating college and the first year of law school. One of the most important things I learned is that one you gain fat cells, they never leave. When you lose fat it empties out of the cell, but it doesn’t go away. So, your body wants to refill that cell with fat. I struggle with gaining weight because once I am done dieting, I go back to eating like I did before. I’m learning that iI just can’t eat as much as I did in high school and my early 20’s. 𝗜 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗜’𝗺 𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘀𝗼 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜’𝗺 𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴. Anyway, hopefully I can keep losing weight and keep it off.” KW⁣
