Perhaps you can go out and run a mile pain free but you run a 5K and that old me injury is flared up. Maybe 50 squats feels just fine but 200 has your knees wrecked. The 30 pull-ups you did last week left you feeling strong and awesome but the 60 in the WOD this week kept you from sleeping. ⁣

As we help clients address injuries we have to keep an eye on overall volume. ⁣

The beauty in this is we try not to eliminate any single movement but just moderate the range of motion or amount of volume we do of that movement. This is key for recovering. We also want to teach our clients how to appropriately return to sport after surgery or an injury. There are a lot of moving pieces to helping someone return fully to live the life they desire. ⁣

Do you ever think of “volume” when it comes to your training?
