When is the last time you planted a seed and expected it to be a tree the next day?

What if you went to that seed and yelled at?

Called it names?

Whispered quietly in its ear about what a failure it is?

“You didn’t become a tree overnight, you might as well quit trying.”

What if you went to that seed and you pulled on it, demanding with your strength that it do what it was told?

We all know these tactics won’t work.

In fact they sound absurd.

What if instead you give that seed proper nutrients, the right amount of water, some sunshine, and TIME? Well, eventually you will be telling your children all about how that tree was just a tiny seed.

The same can be true with your nutrition, friends.

It’s easy to look in the mirror day after day and whisper quietly to yourself “nothing is changing-give up now” or to try to “buckle down and just do it better”

What if instead you gave yourself time?

You fed yourself well (not perfectly-but well), you drank that water, and you moved your body in a way that feels good-maybe even in the sunshine from time to time.

Thoughts brought to you today from Coach Megan.  Take a moment and reflect on how you’re speaking to yourself.  What is your internal dialogue?  Let’s give ourselves some grace and find some perspective.  This is a journey that takes time and patience.

What “seed” are you planting today?
