Strict pull-ups are a strength movement.
Kipping pull-ups although require strength but are more of a gymnastic movement.
It is our educated opinion that everyone should have 3 Strict Pull Ups before incorporating kipping pullups in their training regularly.
Having the strict strength to pull your full body weight for at least 3 reps will better ensure your shoulder is strong and stable enough to handle the more dynamic and larger range of motion that a kipping pull-up requires.
