How to stay motivated over the Summer

HELP!!!  How do I stay Motivated over Summer?!?

It’s summer, all I want to do is hang with friends and drink beer!

I get it, summer is here and everyone is grilling out, grabbing a beer and it feels so good to FINALLY be a little more social!  This is making it a struggle for a lot of people right now though!  How can we still move the needle toward our goals without missing out on the summer fun!

Here are 5 simple tips that will help!

1-Grab a Friend who has similar goals and create an accountability action plan – Whether it’s food or fitness, find someone who has goals that align with yours and create a plan to exercise together or meal prep together or just set up a time to check in each week to see how things went.

2-Write down your specific goals and put them on your bathroom mirror and at your desk or car. Wherever you spend the most time. -This is key. Identify what you desire. If it is a weight loss goal or a goal to exercise 3 times each week WRITE IT DOWN. Put it where you will see it EVERYDAY!!!!  This is a constant reminder of choices you want to make!

3-Join a supportive Group or motivating team – Train for a 5K – join a crossfit gym – connect with a group on Facebook.  Surrounding yourself with like minded people who are striving for the same thing is super motivating and can keep us connected when we might let the drive go.

4- Find your WHY!  The reason that you have to goals and desires that you have is important.  Take time to meditate and decipher WHY it is that you have this goal or target.  DIG DEEP – GO 5 WHYS IN!!!  Answer and then keep asking why. You will find that it really helps strip it down and get to the core reason you desire “THE THING!”

5- Create Routines and Habits that stick! This is KEY!  Find a staple breakfast that you love and stick with it.  Set some hard lines like “I will only drink 3 days / week”  Sign up for fitness class’s that you HAVE TO REGISTER FOR so your less likely to back out. HABITS & ROUTINES are the MOST IMPORTANT thing you can do to remain consistent so creating them NOW will pay off long term!
