Tempted to skip breakfast? Studies have found that eating breakfast may improve short-term memory and attention. Students who eat it tend to perform better than those who don’t. Foods at the top of researchers’ brain-fuel list include high-fiber whole grains, dairy, and fruits. Just don’t overeat; researchers also found high-calorie breakfasts appear to hinder concentration.
That inspired us to share with you this Summit Health original Apple Cinnamon Overnight Oats Recipe
Ingredients
½ cup organic or GF rolled oats
2 tsp chia seeds
½ cup milk of choice
30 grams chopped apples
1 tsp cinnamon powder
4 tbsp natural vanilla greek yogurt or yogurt alternative
Instructions :
Throw everything in a jar, screw the lid on top, shake, and off it goes into the fridge.
The next morning add a dash of milk, a sweetener (if you want) and enjoy!
I wait on adding my Greek yogurt until the day I eat it and I use plain greek yogurt and add 15 grams of maple syrup for sweetness. If you need a little fat add in some ghee or grass fed butter if you warm these in the morning. The richness is TO DIE FOR!
