Things I wish I had known 10 years ago….
1- Carbs are not “BAD” – Learning to love and embrace carbs and what they provide my body has given me more freedom than ever with food!!
2 – Just because it’s “Whole 30” doesn’t make it less calorically dense. Oftentimes it’s higher calorie – I really struggled to lean out and couldn’t figure out why because I was eating only “healthy” food!
3 – Calories are king – If I’m not in a deficit I won’t lose and if I’m not in a surplus I won’t gain!
4 – Protein is my friend! I spent two decades of my life feeling hypoglycemic simply because I wasn’t eating enough protein throughout the day!
5 – Strength Training will lean me out faster than cardio ever will! – Obviously cardio has its place but as soon as I embraced progressive overload strength training I was able to obtain the leanest body composition I’ve ever experienced!
