What are the words you’re saying to yourself over and over? Is it “I knew I couldn’t do this!” I knew I would plateau. I knew I would gain the weight back. Maybe I shouldn’t get rid of those clothes just in case. I don’t have time. I’m just too busy.
What you reinforce in your head by thoughts influence your actions more than we will ever know. So how do we rewire our brain and our thoughts to change those negative thoughts.
#1 – Recognize the thought and validate it – its is real it is how you feel and that’s ok
#2 – Ask yourself is it TRUTH? Is it reality or is it your PERCEPTION of reality? Likely it’s your perception of reality.
#3 – REPLACE the thought with a new positive one.
For example:
I may feel like I can’t do this but I will gain confidence that I can!
I have plateaued in the past but this time is different and I will push through any plateau no matter what!
I have gained the weight back in the past but I am permanently changing my habits now and forever! The weight will stay off and I don’t need these “fat clothes”
I may be pressed for time but I choose to prioritize my nutrition!
I may be super busy but my health matters and I’m never too busy for daily movement and making good food choices. I make time for what matters!
Just the act of shifting these patterns of thought over and over and over will change not only your perception but also reality. What you mind goes to your energy flows so lets start changing our vocabulary and see how behavior follows suit!!
