Thursday Thoughts – Make Time for what Matters

Each week we share a journal prompt that we ask our clients to reflect on.  Why is journaling so beneficial?

  • It Reduces Stress
  • Improves Immune Function
  • Keeps Memory Sharp
  • Boosts Mood
  • Strengthens Emotional Resilience

Allow yourself time this week to reflect and journal on the prompt below.

This week we are focusing on the benefits of priorities.

Allow yourself time this week to reflect and journal on the prompt below.

What are you saying you don’t have time for? Is it a priority to you?

How can you make the time?

We all make time for what matters most.

Our schedules and our Google reminders say a lot about what we really value in life.

I love paper calendar and sometimes I will dig them out and dive in what a week, month or year held.  They are like timecapsules holding these treasured experiences, moments and adventures.

If you were take a step back, and take a close look at what we saw on those pages today, what would we see? Would you be happy with our priorities? Would we feel satisfied with what they say about you?

For one thing, my calendar is always full, but I hesitate to put the things that really matter into it.  Continuing daily education. A walk with my hubby.  Coffee with my mom.  Instead. I have my non-negotiables and not much else.  My goal is to change that.  I want to schedule and prioritize those little or big moments that really matter.

Because if our calendars really are a reflection of our priorities, then the truth is, our priorities are as limited as our calendars are. In other words—We only have 24 hours in a day and we can not make everything a priority so we have to decide what really matters and move on.

It is just like food.  We have taught our Summit Health clients that you take your non-negotiable food that you desire to enjoy and you make it a priority and you build from there. The same is true with life.  Start with the things that matter most and fill in the gaps and continue to make adjustments.  I know its easier said than done but we are all work in progress.  Start small and build from there.

LEARN. ADJUST. GROW.

Happy scheduling!
